Your car dashboard is supposed to be an information panel. It is the place that tells you how fast you are going, how your car is doing and it is also where you find the entertainment section of your vehicle.

For those of you familiar with your dashboard, it may be surprising to learn that there are many people out there that don’t know what all the lights, gauges and warnings are on their dash. Crazy, but true. While the car dashboard is supposed to be useful, for many people it’s just annoying. Here’s why.

The Lights Are Too Bright

Some people find that even when they dim their interior lights, they are just too bright for nighttime driving. They can make you see spots, put a glare on your glasses or just be distracting.

Your dashboard lights are often tested with certain equipment that helps to achieve the right brightness, according to Photo Research Inc. So, it could be possible that your annoyingly bright dash wasn’t every properly tested.

Your best solution, if getting a new vehicle is not an option, is to invest in some anti-glare coated eyeglasses that will help you be less annoyed by those lights, and the lights on the vehicles heading toward you.

Why Does That Check Engine Light Always Have To Be On?

If you are one of the unlucky ones that has a vehicle that seems to love it’s check engine light, you know what a pain it can be. If you read your manual it says if that light comes on you need to get your vehicle into the shop immediately. However, some of you will leave the shop with it still on.

The last thing you want to do is cover that light up with duct or electrical tape, like many do. Sure, right now there may really be nothing extremely wrong with your vehicle, but if that light were to start flashing you do need to know and get it checked. If it’s covered there’s no way to know.

Don’t Forget The Dust

That may be the most annoying thing on the dashboard, the dust. It seems like a dust magnet. Get some cleaning wipes and wipe it down often. Then you can sue some Armor All to help protect it and make it look shiny and new again.

Your dashboard is probably one of the most important parts of your vehicle, so don’t neglect it. And try not to hate it even when it annoys you!

Most people simply think of the dashboard as entertainment center where they listen to music and fiddle with the radio. However, that section is mostly a distraction. People complain about it too.
