ISE is a privately-held Corporation that was formally incorporated in California in January 1995. ISE is a supplier of electric and hybrid-electric drive systems to major bus and truck manufacturers. ISE is also a motor vehicle manufacturer registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and possesses vehicle manufacturer and vehicle dealer licenses from the State of California. David M. Mazaika (President and CEO) and Michael C. Simon (Director) were the two principal founders of the Company.

In the first quarter of 2005, ISE moved its headquarters from 7345 Mission Gorge Road, Suite K; San Diego, CA 92120 to 12302 Kerran Street, Poway, CA 92064. ISE's new facility includes 46,000 square feet of office, R&D, and manufacturing space.

ISE's auditor is KPMG, its corporate counsel is Heller Ehrman L.L.P., and its IP counsel is Procopio Cory Hargreaves & Savitch.
