Job Description:

The successful candidate will have a BS or MS degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 7 years electrical design experience in Power Systems.

Responsibilities include the development of power electronics products, power conversion and distribution circuitry, and energy storage for hybrid, fuel cell, and electric vehicle applications.

Proven experience with high voltage DC and 3-phase AC power is necessary.

Demonstrated knowledge of generators, traction motors, inverters, converters, power distribution devices, batteries, and power control electronics is expected.

Position Requirements:

Must have:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Design experience in development of high voltage power components power electronics, permanent magnet machines, induction machines
    component development, testing, subsystem and vehicle integration
  • Simulation and analysis of high voltage power electronics and subsystems
  • Experience in use of commercial simulation tools, such as PSPICE or Matlab/Simulink
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Work effectively as part of a cutting-edge engineering team
  • Willing to relocate to San Diego, CA

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in electric machine design and high voltage power electronics design
  • Design methods for meeting EMC/EMI requirements and complying with UL, CSA, CE standards
  • Batteries, Ultra-capacitors, energy storage for hybrid vehicles
  • Development, testing, and integration of Drive Systems in hybrid or electric vehicles
  • HV wiring/cable interconnects
