ISE Corporation, a global leader in hybrid-electric drive systems and components for clean heavy-duty propulsion located in Poway, CA is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5 years experience and knowledge in international documentation, customs compliance, and shipping process automation.
- Experience in coordinating all shipping activity, verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment.
- Experience in preparing bills of lading.
- Experience in selecting, assembling, and labeling shipping cartons and operating forklifts and hand trucks.
- Advanced organizational and follow-through skills.
- The capacity to work well under supervisory direction and collaborate with team members to establish, modify, and continually improve department operational methods and procedures.
Specific tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and coordinating all shipping activity.
- Verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments.
- Preparing items for shipment, including: studying shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules and utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Ensuring that goods are packaged and protected for shipping according to specifications.
- Compiling records of unfilled orders.
- Preparing bills of lading.
- Preparing records for management and maintaining appropriate shipping and receiving documentation.
- Posting weight and shipping charges and analyzing performance of existing shipping and receiving systems, evaluating and recommending new programs to improve distribution methods, and implementing cost reductions.
- Working with management to establish and modify department operational methods and procedures.
- Affixing shipping labels on packed cartons/crates.
- Assembling wooden or cardboard containers or selecting preassembled containers.
- Inserting items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
- Screwing covers on wooden crates and binding containers with metal/plastic straps using strapping equipment.
- Maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operating forklift or using a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the S/R platform to the storage or work area.
- Potentially directing others in preparing outgoing shipments.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Additional desired qualifications include:
- Experience in Oracle ERP
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in Data base
