ISE Corporation, a global leader in hybrid-electric drive systems and components for clean heavy-duty propulsion located in Poway, CA, is seeking a Mechanical engineer to lead the mechanical design and development for energy storage systems for heavy-duty electric and hybrid vehicles.
The successful candidate will have:
- 7 years of experience in electromechanical components and/or assemblies
- Demonstrated proficiency in Pro/E or Solidworks, thermal management design and analysis for machines, electronics, or batteries
- Proven capabilities in finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical components and assemblies
- Experience in the design of thermal management systems for machines, electronics, or batteries
- Demonstrated proficiency in Pro/E or Solidworks
- Proven capabilities with CFD and FEA tools
- Experienced in metal and plastic part fabrication
- The capacity to create professional engineering documentation and oversee parts fabrication and prototype builds
- Experience in writing specifications and validation test procedures
- Experience in formal product development and release practices
- A high level of oral and written communication skills
- The capacity to work effectively as part of an engineering team
Specific tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Concept design
- CAD oversight
- Thermal design and CFD analysis
- Structural design and FEA analysis
- Prototype development
- Validation testing
- Documentation
- Production hand-off
Additional desired qualifications include:
- Battery and/or battery packaging and thermal management experience
- Experience in the design of HV conductors and/or interconnects
- Experience working with Hybrid or electric vehicle drive systems
- Experience in injection molded plastic parts
- Machine shop experience
